Stage 3 'MAX'

Stage 3 Tuning B48 and B46D/B48D 2.0L 4-cylinder engine

Stage 3 'MAX' is designed for road cars and weekend racers looking to maximize their power output while adding additional hardware to their car in order to free up every available torque and hp, while keeping within factory safety margins. This tune will increase power levels by +45-70% (depending on model) and will be the top power available with the factory turbo and fueling system. A clutch upgrade is highly recommended.

This tune was developed with the MINI JCW Pro race team and has been used extensively on track in addition to road tests for driving behavior. It is the ultimate level for the B46 / B48 engine before much heavier modifications are required.

Specific Features:

-          +45-70% power increase over stock

-          Highest level safe power request for factory turbo and fueling system

-          93 AKI octane fuel recommended, or raising octane with ethanol fuel blends

-          Tune focused on response and sharp delivery in Sport modes as well as the other driving modes (Green and MID)

-          Highly popular with dedicated enthusiasts that enjoy track time as well as driving their MINI back home afterwards

This tune can be customized with:

-          Burble (exhaust pops) duration and aggression

-          DirectDrive throttle control: proprietary tune changes for reduced throttle delays and reduced revhang

-          Auto rev-match for manual transmission cars On/Off in any driving mode

-          Engine startup roar

-          Reduced engine temperatures via custom thermostat control

-          Ethanol blend fuels up to E35 possible

*NOTE For MINIs that have received firmware updates at the dealer after 03/2019, a bench unlock is required before tuning. We provide this service - you must choose the Send in your ECU option!*

2020.5-2023 Requires an ECU replacement with a Modded Mini-supplied unlocked ECU. The BDC module and a key must be sent in for ECU clone programming. You keep your original ECU.
